Local Alphabets, or *LA* is hot off the Martian Press! This 22’’x17’’ red and gold Risograph print depicts an abstract map of Los Angeles and its geo-typography. This past year, I’ve been physically visiting these local forms as part of my ongoing Topography Typography project. This resulting poster illustrates a curated collection of alphabets to call for examining the foundations of the systems in which we live.
I’m selling a limited series of these prints, and all proceeds from September 2020 will go to Utah Diné Bikéyah in supporting emergency COVID-19 relief as well as establishing resilient food systems. My employer DreamWorks Animation will be matching these proceeds. All donations are welcome, w/ $20.20 recommended for those employed and out of school. Feel free to order a print here!
